It’s been awhile since my last update – things have been crazy around here! So just in case you’re interested…
MAC – Mac went to the orthopedic surgeon this past Monday for her hip. The ultrasound showed some limited movement in her left hip. The ortho said that she didn’t think she had hip dysplaysia, but rather the clicking was tissue rubbing against bone. This is something that she should grow out of but they’ll do an x-ray at 3 1/2 months just to be sure. She is growing splendidly and is a good girl. She’s not the napper Will was, but we can deal with that since she sleeps so good at night – twice this week she only woke up once to eat and went right back to sleep! She still loves to be held and I just wish I could sit and cuddle with her all day long!!
WILL – Will got over his flu illness just in time to get a nasty runny nose. Awesome – ’tis the season! He’s still pretty crabby and whiny from time to time, but it seems to be better than it was a week or so ago. He’s still waking up at night so we’re hoping that will end SOON. He’s starting to put words together like “Bye Bye Daddy” and “School Bus” (which is really more like “Zoo Bah”). He can do all the animal sounds and is a great helper with Mac. I wish I had all day to play peek a boo under the blanket and read books with him!!
ME (That’s Lindsay!) – My headaches are still around although they are fewer and further between. Not any less intense though. After a cat scan and blood work, we still don’t have a clear cause. My doctor seems to think it is from a strained muscle in my back. My OB seems to think it is related to hormones and/or my blood pressure. I think it might just be all 3. Either way, there’s not much I can do about it so Motrin is my great friend. Although the blood work didn’t help with the headaches, it showed some other things – high sugars, high liver enzymes and anemia. I’m waiting for the results on some follow up blood work to see if I need to do anything to deal with those or if I just need to get up off my butt and get back in shape.
BRANDON – He’s Brandon. Come on.
On the homefront, we are less one dog. Bear went to live with a new family in Galena (friends of Dad & Frania) on Tuesday. I took her out there and of course cried my eyes out when I left her. However, I received a call the next day from Kathy (Bear’s new mom) saying that she was doing great and that they loved her so much. It’s comforting to know that she will probably get more attention there than she did at our house and that they will take good care of her. I miss her a lot. Tuesday night was really weird and it is still strange around the house without her, but oddly much calmer. I guess it’s not odd that one less dog would make things more calm, but I guess I never thought Bear was the craziness instigator!
Whew – that was quite the update. Any questions?
